Former Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan, Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman Visits GBCCI Office

Gilgit, [Date] — The Gilgit-Baltistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GBCCI) had the honor of hosting the Former Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman, at its head office today.

During his visit, Mr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman engaged in an in-depth discussion with the leadership and members of GBCCI on a wide range of pressing trade and economic issues faced by the region. The dialogue focused on challenges such as:

• Delays and complications in customs clearance, particularly at the Sost Dry Port.
• Financial constraints and lack of access to federal support schemes for local businesses.

• The absence of an industrial policy and trade-specific incentives for Gilgit-Baltistan entrepreneurs.

Mr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman appreciated the role GBCCI is playing in representing the interests of the business community and assured his continued support for strengthening economic development in the region. He emphasized the need for unified efforts from both public and private sectors to resolve the longstanding trade barriers and to advocate for policy-level reforms at the federal level.
